Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service
Family Matters offer an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) who is able to work with women and men in the NW Kent and Medway area who have experienced sexual violence. The role offers both practical and emotional support.
Coping with the short and long term effects of sexual violence can be devastating, overwhelming and confusing. You may need someone who can help you work through your various needs at this time and how to go about getting them met, whether you have reported your assault to the police or not. All enquiries are treated in the strictest confidence.
The ISVA service can help you move forward by helping you contact the police if want to, accessing Health Authorities, obtaining Family Support and Counselling. They can also advise you on the Criminal Justice procedures and refer you to the Family Matters Rape Therapy Programme.
You can contact Family Matters regarding the ISVA service on 01474 536661.
Don't be afraid to get in touch-even if it's just to ask a little more about what kind of support the ISVA can offer.
